These are my gloves. Actually... they are not my gloves. I came upon them by. Well. Thievery. I kept saying to myself, I must return these gloves. I must return these gloves. Gosh, I hope I forget that I must return these gloves. Well, I honest to goodness did. Forget. Until the minute the car pulled away. Then I remembered. But, you were still standing there. On the curb. And I looked at her and said, gosh, I still have his gloves.
It's rather a good thing, though, that I have them. I wore them on the walk through the woods, even kept them out of the mud when I fell head over tree stump. I wore them on the plane when it got too cold. I wore them on my way to class. Just for a minute. And they were quite a comfort the other night when I reached beneath and found them under my pillow. You have no idea what a comfort that was. All this from a pair of gloves that I was told to "throw away if I wanted. Horrid old things." (Your words, not mine).
This is my dog. I didn't actually acquire him via thievery. He just stuck his tongue in my glass of ice water. At the moment, I'm happier with the gloves.
